Our Mission

The Dugout is a drop-in centre on the Downtown Eastside providing people with dignity, warmth, nourishment, and safety, as well as the chance to connect with other people and opportunities for change.

The Dugout currently has a  'working'* board of volunteer positions.  The Board has recently updated a Strategic Plan with a vision for the future that would benefit from the following experience and skill sets and a passion for helping vulnerable people living in The Downtown Eastside.

ACCOUNTING
This position would oversee the quarterly P & L statements, invoices, expenditures, deposits and YE statements for The Dugout and report to the board.  
BUSINESS  RELATIONS
This position would develop and oversee corporation relationships for funding and gifts in-kind.  This position would also include relationships for corporate volunteer initiatives.
FUNDRAISING
This position would develop and oversee fundraising initiatives of The Dugout.  Including, grant, corporate and foundation applications.
LEGAL
This position would review all legal responsibilities with staff, guests and government for The Dugout.
MARKETING
This position would develop and oversee the brand development of The Dugout for fundraising, public relations, social media and supporter communication.

* Working board means that board members are expected to contribute some work between board meetings that will eventually be carried out by paid staff.
